Salesforce to decrease real-estate footprint - report Inc expects to reduce its real-estate footprint after the pandemic as at least 65% of employees will only use the office space one to three times a week, while an unspecified number of workers will continue working entirely remotely, Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

So far, Salesforce hasn’t adjusted salaries for those employees who moved out of San Francisco chasing bigger savings in less costly places. However, the company does admit that the hiring process is now less limited by geography. "Not everyone who is a talented technologist can afford to pack up and move their families out to the West Coast and California," said Bret Taylor, Salesforce’s chief operating officer.

The business-software provider is San Francisco's largest private employer with over 54,000 global employees. The corporation occupies the city’s tallest building, known as Salesforce Tower, and other skyscrapers in Indianapolis, New York and Chicago.
