GM to invest $100M in US truck manufacturing plants

General Motors Company announced on Thursday that it will invest $100 million into two of its truck manufacturing plants.

Its Romulus, Michigan propulsion plant will receive an investment of $93 million, while $7 million will be invested into the Bedford, Indiana casting operations.

"Demand for our Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra full-size pickups continues to be very strong and we are taking action to increase the availability of our trucks for our dealers and customers. We appreciate the commitment and hard work our teams display every day at work in Romulus and Bedford, and these investments reflect the importance of their efforts," said GM's Vice President of North America Manufacturing and Labor Relations Phil Kienle noted in a press release.
