WH reviewing Nord Stream 2 policies - report

The Biden administration is assessing the United States policy towards Nord Stream 2 pipeline and has entered talks on the future of the project with Berlin, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

The White House, which still hasn't implemented any sanctions authorized by the previous administration, is facing a deadline to report companies that are in breach of the law aimed at stopping the project, the news organization said.

A spokesperson for the State Department told the WSJ that Washington is aware the construction of the pipeline has been resumed and that it will "monitor activity to complete or certify the pipeline and, if such activity takes place, make a determination on the applicability of sanctions."
