Wall Street closes mixed as Treasury yields grow

Major stock markets in the United States closed mixed on Tuesday as 10-year Treasury yields jumped to a 12-month high on optimism for the passing of the $1.9 trillion relief bill. Federal Reserve officials shared their views on economic recovery, anticipating financial stress caused by changes in the housing industry. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden extended the foreclosure moratorium and forbearance relief to support borrowers that are behind on due payments.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.20% with growing by 3.42%, while the Nasdaq 100 lost 0.25% as Peloton dropped by 5.68%. The S&P 500 closed with 0.06% in the red as Allegion PLC plummeted by 7.33%.

The euro remained flat against the dollar selling for $1.21114 at 4:02 pm ET.
