Twitter removes accounts connected to Iran, Russia, Armenia

Twitter said on Tuesday it had removed 373 accounts that were somehow connected to Russia, Armenia and Iran and had breached its platform manipulation policies.

According to the company, it removed 238 accounts from Iran, 100 accounts connected with Russia and 35 accounts with Armenian ties. All of these accounts are said to have violated Twitter's policies especially regarding "narratives that undermined faith in NATO and targeted the United States and the European Union." Also, some Russian accounts were allegedly affiliated with the Internet Research Agency (IRA) and Russian government-linked actors.

Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated that Russia "will review the grounds for blocking and give an expert opinion."
