British finances can't be fixed 'overnight' - Sunak

British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak (pictured) stated on Sunday that it will take some time for the United Kingdom's finances to become sustainable again.

"What I want to deliver is support for our economy now when it needs it, support along that road map, helping to drive our recovery, but also leveling with people and being straight about the challenges we face over time because of the shock coronavirus has caused our public finances," the official told the Sky News.

Sunak added the government will also need to make sure public finances are sustainable, but "that isn't going to happen overnight."
