German trade surplus lands at €14.3B in January
The non-adjusted foreign trade surplus in Germany stood at €14.3 billion in January, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis said in a report released on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the trade surplus, adjusted for calendar and season, was at €22.2 billion in January.
Germany's exported goods amounted to €98.1 billion, up 1.4% month-over-month, though it dropped 8% compared to January 2020.
Meanwhile, imports were 4.7% lower compared to the month prior to land at €83.8 billion in January. On an annual basis, the figure sank 9.8%.
