Spain to start getting 1.2M Pfizer jab doses weekly - official

Spain will start receiving 1.2 million doses of Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE's vaccine against COVID-19 a week in April, the country's Health Minister Carolina Darias (pictured) announced on Wednesday.

Darias said those shipments would allow the government to fulfill its goal and have 80% of the population aged over 80 vaccinated. The minister added she had asked the authorities not to pause the inoculation during Holy Week, which will start on March 28 and end on Easter, April 3.

Spain has so far administered over 6.62 million doses, while over 2.72 million people have received both shots.
