Maersk: Suez backlog could take months to clear

Maersk Group stated on Monday that the disruption of global shipping caused by the blockage of the Suez Canal may take months to clear fully.

Maersk's statement read "the blockage has already triggered a series of further disruptions and backlogs in global shipping that could take weeks, possibly months, to unravel," emphasizing its global significance.

As of Monday morning, the shipping group had three vessels stuck in the canal, and a further 29 vessels waiting to enter. This number is a part of the nearly 400 reported ships that are waiting to go through the Suez Canal, which has been just unblocked.
