US had no impact on OPEC+ decision - Saudi oil min

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman underlined on Thursday that the United States did not attempt to influence the decision on oil output cuts made earlier in the day by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies (OPEC+).

His conversation with US officials last night did not address the oil market, prices or OPEC+ itself, Prince Abdulaziz said at a press conference following the 15th OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting. He also noted that there are "many good things" Riyadh "could do" with the new US administration regarding the global economy, climate change and the two countries' "energy agendas."

Likewise, other large oil consumers such as China and India did not discuss the oil market and prices with Saudi Arabia and did not try to pressure it about its oil production decision, Prince Abdulaziz pointed out.
