Johnson confirms easing lockdown restrictions April 12

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Monday that on April 12 England will enter the second step of the roadmap for easing restrictions in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

"On Monday, the 12th [of April] I will be going to the pub myself and cautiously, but irreversibly raising a pint of beer to my lips," Johnson shared. The new stage will include the reopening of shops, gyms, zoos, holiday campsites, personal care services, beer gardens, and outdoor hospitality of all kinds.

The prime minister also added that vaccine passports may be useful for international travel and that there is a chance that customers will be asked for vaccination proof when going to local businesses. Nevertheless, the issue will not be voted on in the next couple of stages of the roadmap on easing restrictions.
