Tehran refuses partial sanction lifts - Iran's Araqchi
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Seyed Abbas Araqchi said on Tuesday after one of the meetings of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action talks in Vienna that Tehran rejected the proposal of suspension of 20% uranium enrichment in return for unfreezing $1 billion of its assets.
The Iranian chief nuclear negotiator said the talks were generally constructive and will continue on Friday, but reiterated that Iran insists on all sanctions imposed by former US President Donald Trump being lifted for Iran to comply with the JCPOA terms.
"What Mr. Malley [US representative in Vienna conference] has said is, in fact, a sign of lack of seriousness on their side, because they have left the JCPOA and they have imposed sanctions, so obviously if they want to come back, they have to lift all those sanctions, altogether, in one step," Araqchi stated.
