Brazil's COVID deaths rise by record 4,249

The data provided by Brazil's Health Ministry showed the nation saw its deadliest day since the start of the coronavirus pandemic with 4,249 fatalities attributed to the disease over the past 24 hours.

The figure takes the country's total to 345,025 and marks the second record-setting number recorded in the past week.

The cumulative number of infections reached 13,279,857 in the meantime, as another 86,652 people tested positive for the illness. Meanwhile, recoveries from the illness increased to 11,732,193, with 1,202,639 still hospitalized.
