US closes with gains as Dow, S&P hit record highs

Major stock markets on Wall Street closed the last session of the week on Friday with solid gains with Dow Jones and S&P 500 setting new all-time high records. Released data reports reflected economic growth as Producer Price Index exceeded estimates gaining 1%, compared to the month prior, while wholesale inventories rose by 0.6%.

President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, Robert Kaplan, hinted at an upcoming recovery as he suggested that "excessive accommodation" can be damaging if taken too far and it is better to remove special pandemic measures "sooner rather than later".

Dow Jones grew 0.89% with Apple advancing by 2.02%, while the S&P 500 gained 0.77% as Tapestry increased by 3.50%. The Nasdaq 100 climbed 0.63% led by Align Technology jumping 2.92%. The euro fell 0.08% against the dollar exchanging hands for $1.19033 at 3:59 pm ET.
