Spotify to increase prices for its plans in US, Europe

Audio-streaming provider Spotify is set to increase prices of some of its plans this week in the United States and Europe, The Verge reported on Monday.

Spotify's family plan will now cost $15.99 per month instead of $14.99 in the US, while the rest of the plans within the US will for now remain the same. The prices of Spotify Student, Duo subscription and Family plan will rise by one euro per month in the European Union. Meanwhile, the pricing in the United Kingdom will be pushed up similarly, with the exception of the Family plan which will cost three pounds more a month.

"We offer a variety of subscription plans tailored to our users' needs, and we occasionally update our prices to reflect local macroeconomic factors and meet market demands while offering an unparalleled service," Spotify explained in a statement sent to the news website.
