Asia trades mostly higher ahead of US Fed updates

Major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly higher on Wednesday ahead of the United States Federal Reserve's newest decision about interest rates. The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) will also give a conference on the current economic situation. Meanwhile, Japan saw a significant annual and monthly rise in retail sales.

The Nikkei 225 grew by 0.38% at 4:35 am CET, as the dollar gained 0.13% to the yen to sell for ¥108.8415 at 4:39 am CET. South Korea's Kospi sank by 0.85% at 4:40%, while at the same time, Australia's S&P/ASX increased by 0.48%.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite declined 0.06% at 4:26 am CET. A minute later, the Shenzhen Composite rose by 0.31%. Meanwhile, Hong Kong's Hang Seng advanced by 0.30% at 4:43 am CET.
