Europe opens higher after earnings

Equities on major European stock markets were in the green territory at the start of trading sessions on Wednesday after the release of the latest quarterly reports by Deutsche Bank and Sanofi. The investors' attention will also be focused on the latest interest rate decision by the United States Federal Reserve, set for later in the day.

The DAX added 0.43% at 9:03 am CET with Deutsche Bank advancing 4.28% and leading the gains at 9:04 am CET. London's FTSE 100 was 0.08% higher at 9:00 am CET as Lloyds rose by 4.35% at 9:04 am CET. The CAC 40 gained 0.40% at 9:00 am CET with Societe Generale growing 1.73% at 9:05 am CET.

The euro was 0.25% down compared to the dollar at 8:59 am CET, trading for 1.20604. The British pound decreased by 0.33% against the American currency, going for 1.38691 at the same time.
