Europe lower premarket ahead of GDP data

Major European stock markets registered losses ahead of Friday's session ahead of a number of economic data reports set to be published later today, including figures on GDP, unemployment as well as CPI.

On the pandemic front, French health authorities reported last night the country registered the first imported case of India's coronavirus variant, prompting concerns over possible new outbreak spikes.

The DAX lost 0.11% at 7:19 am CET, while the FTSE 100 fell 0.18%. The CAC 40 stood flat at 8:04 am CET. Both the euro and the pound stood flat against the dollar to sell for 1.21170 and 1.39412, respectively.
