Canada approves Pfizer jab for ages 12 to 16 - report

Canada's health regulator Health Canada approved the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for children and teens between the ages of 12 and 16, CTV News reported on Wednesday.

Canada is the first country to have approved the two-dose COVID-19 shot for use among children and will reportedly make an official announcement on its decision promptly.

Last week, Pfizer applied with the European Medicines Agency for the same approval, while the United States Food and Drug Administration is reportedly preparing to authorize the vaccine for adolescents aged between 12 and 15 years early next week.
