EIA: US crude inventories down by 8 million barrels

Commercial crude oil inventories in the United States decreased by 8 million to 485.1 million barrels in the week ending April 30, the US Energy Information Administration said in its weekly report on Wednesday.

Imports of crude oil decreased by 1.2 million barrels per day, compared to last week, and averaged at 5.5 million barrels daily. Gasoline production declined and was producing about 9.1 million barrels per day, compared to the 9.6 million figure of the previous week.

Meanwhile, crude oil refinery inputs averaged 15.2 million barrels per day, up by 225,000 barrels per day, compared to the week before. Overall, refineries operated at 86% of their operable capacity.
