US turns green as Dow hits new record high

The Dow Jones surged over 200 points on Thursday deep into the session as the American economy continued to recover followed by declining COVID-19 figures.

Earlier today, reports revealed both initial jobless claims and job cuts further dropped during the last month, signaling economic recovery is expected to additionally strengthen in May.

The Dow jumped 0.63% or 214 points at 11:50 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 rose 0.51%. The S&P 500 grew 0.43% at the same time. Meanwhile, the euro advanced 0.38% against the dollar to trade for 1.20502.
