Biden, Pelosi call for 'urgent action' in job market

United States President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stressed on Friday that the state of affairs regarding the country's labor market "demands urgent action."

The two Democrats took to Twitter, with Biden praising "more than 1.5 million jobs" added since he took office in January, but also underlying that there is "work to do" before the recovery is reached. Pelosi called for "bold action" and "transformational investments," that are needed "to create more good-paying jobs."

Earlier today, the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed that the unemployment rate in the country increased more than expected compared to the previous month's figure, after which Biden, the White House, and US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen tried to downplay the importance of the worse-than-anticipated data.
