Jerusalem faces 2nd night of riots, 90 injured

Jerusalem faced its second night of rioting, with the Palestinian Red Crescent reporting that at least 90 Palestinians were injured during the confrontation with Israeli police.

Riots broke out at Damascus Gate, as police resorted to the use of stun grenades and rubber bullets in an effort to subdue the rioters. Jerusalem Police Chief Kobi Shabtai stated that the police ask "everyone to de-escalate the violence, especially on such an important day for the Muslim religion," but reiterated that they are "constantly working to enable freedom of worship and maintain order and security."

The protests started on Friday over the displacement of Palestinian families in the East Jerusalem Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, as the United States stated it was "extremely concerned" about all the violence that was happening in the city.
