Biden: Our economic plan is working

United States President Joe Biden said on Monday that the latest economic data showed his administration's "economic plan is working."

Biden stated that over 1.5 million jobs were created during his first 100 days in office and that the country's economic growth in the first quarter reached 6.4%. However, he pointed out that he never claimed the economic recovery from the COVID-19 crisis will be "easy" and "immediate," noting some months will be good, while others will "fall short."

The US president also announced several steps to maintain economic progress, including opening a portal for local and state governments to apply for funds from the American Rescue Plan, delivering assistance to restaurants and bars hit by the pandemic, as well as helping working parents get back to work by offering subsidies for child care. Biden also noted that those who reject job offers will not be entitled to unemployment benefits anymore.
