Buttigieg notes WH efforts to ease Colonial halt effect

United States Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg remarked on Wednesday his department has worked extensively with the White House to make sure authorities mitigate the impact of the Colonial Pipeline shutdown on the country's fuel supplies.

Buttigieg stated the Colonial is working hard to fully restore operations by the end of this week but added such a development is still uncertain. He noted the need for safety in situations similar to this one and pointed out the administration's efforts to enhance the country's cybersecurity tools and resilience to future attacks.

Earlier in the day, President Joe Biden's administration unveiled the steps it will take to diminish the effect of the pipeline shutdown.
