Eurozone trade surplus at €15.8 billion in March
Euro area trade surplus amounted to €15.8 billion in March, according to the first estimate by Eurostat released on Tuesday. In the same month, the entire European Union (EU27) registered a trade surplus of €18.8 billion.
Exports of goods from the Eurozone to the rest of the world stood at €212.1 billion in March, up 8.9% year-on-year, while imports soared 19.2% on a yearly basis to reach €196.3 billion. Intra-Eurozone trade surged 27.5% from March 2020 to €199 billion in March 2021.
EU27 exports grew 10.6% annually to €195.1 billion in March, while imports came in at €176.3 billion in the same month, jumping 19% compared to March 2020. Intra-EU trade amounted to €303.7 billion in March 2021, 23.5% higher compared to the corresponding month the previous year.
