GOP senators undecided on Jan. 6 commission - McConnell

United States Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell remarked on Tuesday the Republican members of the upper house are undecided on if they should support creating an independent commission that will probe the January 6 riots on Capitol Hill.

"I think I'm safe in characterizing our conference as willing to listen to the arguments about whether such a commission is needed," McConnell said.

Earlier in the day, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy opposed the legislation due to "political misdirections that have marred this process," among other reasons. Later, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described McCarthy's attitude as "cowardice."
