Pfizer to provide 2B doses to lower-income countries

Pfizer Inc. CEO Albert Bourla said at the Global Health Summit on Friday that his company, together with BioNTech SE, will provide two billion doses of their COVID-19 vaccine to middle-and low-income countries over the next 18 months. The first half should be delivered by the end of this year, he said.

Bourla also stated the two companies will make a billion doses available to the COVAX program, which guarantees equitable distribution of coronavirus vaccines. Earlier today, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced at the summit that the EU will donate at least 100 million doses by the end of the year.
