KLM to halt flights to Belarus until further notice

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced on Monday it is suspending all flights to Belarus until further notice after the country forced a Ryanair flight to land in Minsk. The company stated it initially found "no safety risks, implying that there is no compelling reason to suspend KLM flight operations over Belarus."

However, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte called on airlines to halt flights to Belarus earlier on Monday. KLM then stated it "will heed this call including the code share flights to Minsk operated by Belavia."
