Boeing delays Dreamliner deliveries amid stricter checks-ups - report

The Boeing Company has temporarily halted deliveries of its aircraft 787 Dreamliner to perform stricter checks-ups of its safety as requested by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on Friday.

According to the sources familiar with the matter, it is not yet clear how long the delay will last. However, they added American Airlines Group Inc., which was supposed to receive a shipment of Dreamliner this week, will not get it "until next week at the earliest."

The report follows the FAA's decision to penalize Boeing $17 million, initially reported as $14 million, over the technical problem in the production of its model 737 and the issues in its deliveries and operations that followed.
