Threat to democracy didn't go away with Trump - Schiff

United States Representative and head of the House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff voiced his concerns about the number of Republicans who believe Donald Trump won the 2020 presidential election. "Half of the Republican voters out there think that he is still the president or still should be, that Biden lost the election. That such a significant percentage of our population could be so deceived by him is alarming."

The Democratic lawmaker went on to say that "it just underscores that the threat to our democracy didn't go away when Donald Trump left office. It is very much with us, it's going to be with us for some time, made worse by his specter hanging over 2024. But even if he doesn't run, these forces of authoritarianism that he has essentially unleashed are going to be with us for some time."
