Tesla energy operations chief leaves - report

RJ Johnson, chief of Tesla Inc.'s energy division, has left the company, Electrek reported on Monday.

After spending almost nine years holding high-ranking posts at Florida-based wholesale electricity supplier NextEra Energy Resources, he joined Tesla as global head of commercial energy in March 2020. Johnson was promoted to lead the carmaker's energy operations in August that same year.

According to the report, the company's energy unit is entering a significant phase even after deploying a much-improved 92 MW of solar power in the previous quarter as the division is reportedly seen as having even more room for growth when it comes to solar energy, energy storage and supporting the production of Tesla Powerwalls.
