Europe turns to losses amid inflation worries

Shares on the major stock market indexes in Europe turned to losses on Wednesday after starting the session mostly flat as the inflation woes took hold among traders.

Bank of England's (BoE) Chief Economist Andy Haldane warned earlier during the day that the quantitative easing scheme is not meant to last indefinitely, and hinted that the central bank could soon opt to turn the process around.

The DAX dropped 0.5% at 12:37 pm CET, while the FTSE 100 lost 0.57% at the same time. Concurrently, in Paris, the CAC 40 stood flat. The euro added 0.16% compared to the dollar at 12:39 pm CET, going for 1.21923, while the pound advanced by 0.13% versus the greenback, selling for 1.41760 at the same time.
