Dow Jones up by over 100 pts after US CPI report

The Dow Jones Industrial Average soared above 100 points in the premarket on Thursday after inflation in the United States was revealed to have reached a near-13-year high in May. Meanwhile, the number of initial jobless claims in the country declined by 9,000 in the week ending June 4, failing analysts' expectations.

The Dow Jones grew by 0.34% or 117 points at 8:52 am ET. At the same time, the S&P 500 advanced by 0.14%. On the other hand, the Nasdaq 100 dropped by 0.25% at 8:53 am ET.

The euro gained 0.08% against the dollar, selling for $1.21902 at 8:54 am ET.
