Dow opens over 180 pts higher with inflation figure in focus

Major stock markets in the United States opened higher on Thursday after the May report on the country's inflation showed the figure reached almost its highest level in the last 13 years. As a result, the yield on the 10-year Treasury note soared by 3.3 basis points to 1.523% at 9:05 am ET. Traders will later also pay attention to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's newest testimony on the economic situation in the country.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average went up by 0.55% or 187 points at the opening as The Boeing Company gained 2.65%. The Nasdaq 100 rose by 0.14%, with Fox Corporation advancing by 0.53%. The S&P 500 increased by 0.37% and reached the record shortly afterward by growing by 0.44% as F5 Networks Inc. expanded by 3.52%.

The euro lost 0.18% to the dollar to sell for $1.21578 at 9:27 am ET.
