Biden, Draghi agree to 'deepen' bilateral ties

United States President Joe Biden met Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi on the sidelines of the G7 summit and the two leaders agreed to "deepen strong bilateral ties" between their countries, according to the White House.

The White House noted Biden and Draghi pledged to continue "close cooperation to overcome the pandemic" but also to work together "on global challenges and shared foreign policy priorities, including China, Russia and Libya."

Earlier, a Biden administration official said that Washington and Rome had differences of opinion on how to proceed with a common approach to China.
