Oil declines after progress in Iran talks

Prices of oil futures decreased after oil market sentiment was seemingly affected by the latest news on progress in the Iranian nuclear deal negotiations and its possible impact on the country's oil sector sanctions currently in place. Yesterday, a United States District Court judge blocked the nationwide suspension of new oil and gas leases on federal land and waters imposed by President Joe Biden's executive order.

Brent for August deliveries was down 0.93%, going for $72.41 per barrel at 11:25 pm ET, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in July lost 0.87% to sell for $70.42 per barrel at 10:54 pm ET.
