Palantir wins FAA data analytics contract

The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) picked on Friday Palantir Technologies Inc. to provide it with a data analytics tool for aviation safety. The contract will last for one year with two additional option years and is valued at a maximum of $18.4 million.

Palantir will provide the agency with its Foundry platform in order to "support the FAA’s aircraft certification and continued operational safety activities, including the ongoing monitoring of the 737 MAX fleet’s return to service." According to the tech company, it will "enable FAA aerospace engineers and analysts to more rapidly and efficiently monitor, analyze, visualize, and share aviation safety data used in their determination of whether an incident presents a past or future safety risk."
