Seoul, US to consider ending N. Korea working group

South Korea and the United States could terminate the joint North Korean policy working group, founded in 2018, Seoul's Foreign Ministry announced.

After a meeting between South Korea's chief nuclear envoy, Noh Kyu-duk (pictured right), and US Special Representative for North Korea Policy Sung Kim (pictured left), the ministry issued a statement explaining that "the two sides checked the operation of the existing working group and agreed to consider terminating it."

North Korea previously criticized the forum, calling it a "hurdle" to ties between the two countries on the Korean Peninsula.
