Europe opens mostly higher ahead of data

Major European stock exchanges opened mostly higher on Tuesday as traders awaited consumer confidence data for the Eurozone, set to be released later in the day. Meanwhile, news about German carmakers' plans were in the spotlight ahead of the start of the trading session in Europe.

The DAX declined 0.15% at 9:01 am CET as Siemens Energy led the losses, ticking 0.67% lower a minute later. London's FTSE 100 rose by 0.28% at 9:00 am CET as British Land Company advanced 2.70% at the same time. The CAC 40 gained 0.11% 9:00 am CET. Credit Agricole was the best performer, increasing 0.91% at 9:01 am CET.

The euro was 0.16% down against the dollar at 8:59 am CET, trading at 1.18996. The British pound was 0.24% lower compared to the American currency, going for 1.39007 concurrently.
