EU yeses France's €39.4B COVID-19 recovery plan

The European Commission approved on Wednesday France's scheme worth €39.4 billion in grants, issued through the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), aimed at the rebound of that country's economy from the crisis the COVID-19 pandemic caused.

"Next Generation EU [...] will help finance the investments and reforms needed to build a prosperous future. The measures contained within it will play a crucial role in securing the green and digital transitions while making the French economy more competitive and resilient," European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated.

Earlier this week, the commission supported Italy's recovery plan worth €191.5 billion.
