Le Drian urges Iran to take decisions to save JCPOA

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Friday that Iran should take "final difficult decisions" in order to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear deal.

"We're waiting for Iranian authorities to take the final difficult decisions to allow for the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal," Le Drian stated during a joint press conference with his American counterpart Antony Blinken.

Earlier, the US said the JCPOA revival remains possible but noted more negotiations are needed to overcome certain issues. Meanwhile, Tehran stated it is ready to conclude negotiations if "other parties are ready for this," but noted it can also continue them under President-elect Ebrahim Raisi if needed.
