S. Arabia to give Pfizer vaccine to adolescents

Saudi Arabia's Health Ministry announced on Sunday it will start vaccinating adolescents aged between 12 and 18 years against the COVID-19 using the Pfizer/BioNTech jab.

The plan comes after the Saudi Food and Drug Authority approved the vaccine's use among teens. Several countries across the globe previously provided the same approval, including the United States and the United Kingdom.

However, concerns arose last week after the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported it detected over 1,200 cases of rare inflammatory heart conditions following the shot, particularly in people aged between 16 and 24 years.
