Vaccines approved in EU protect against all strains - EMA

The four COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in the European Union protect against all known strains of the virus, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) stated on Thursday.

The agency took to Twitter to announce that the "first real-world data suggests" the antibodies acquired after getting either of the four shots are enough to "neutralize" the Delta variant, initially uncovered in India.

So far, the EU has approved vaccines developed by AstraZeneca plc, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna Inc., and Johnson & Johnson.
