US, S. Korea talk Korean Peninsula peace process

South Korean Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Noh Kyu-duk (pictured right) and United States Special Envoy for North Korea Sung Kim (pictured left) had a phone call on Thursday during which they discussed how to enhance the peace process between Seoul and Pyongyang.

According to the South Korean Foreign Ministry, the two envoys talked about the ways to implement the agreements made by President Moon Jae-in and his US counterpart Joe Biden during their meeting in May. Both sides highlighted the importance of the denuclearization of the peninsula.

More recently, South Korean Unification Minister Lee In-young urged the country to "act more quickly" and continue the dialogue with its Northern neighbor.
