Johnson urges caution ahead of final reopening call
United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged on Monday the British public to exercise caution and "continue to protect our NHS" [National Health Service] amid the easing of restrictions the government imposed to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.
"We are tantalizingly close to the final milestone in our road map out of lockdown, but the plan to restore our freedoms must come with a warning," Johnson said and went on to describe caution as "absolutely vital."
Earlier in the day, British Under-Secretary for COVID-19 Vaccine Deployment Nadhim Zahawi stated he expects the government to go ahead with its plan of easing and fully lift the measures on July 19.
