US, allies blame China for Microsoft cyberattack

The Biden administration and a number of United States allies, including the European Union and the United Kingdom, blamed China on Monday for orchestrating a series of cyberattacks earlier this year via Microsoft Exchange servers.

"The Chinese Government must end this systematic cyber sabotage and can expect to be held account if it does not," Britain's Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the EU's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the hacking was "conducted from the territory of China for the purpose of intellectual property theft and espionage."
