Tesla's Superchargers to be available to other EVs by year-end - Musk

Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk announced on Tuesday that his company plans to open its Supercharger network to electric vehicles made by other automakers by the end of the year.

"We created our own connector, as there was no standard back then & Tesla was only maker of long range electric cars. It's one fairly slim connector for both low & high power charging. That said, we're making our Supercharger network open to other EVs later this year," Musk wrote in a tweet.

Back in May, the carmaker reached a milestone of over 25,000 fast-charging stalls in its global network of around 2,700 stations.
