US trade deficit up to $91.2B in June

The United States international trade deficit stood at $91.2 billion in June, up $3 billion, or 3.5%, from the previous month, according to the US Census Bureau's advance report published on Wednesday.

Exports of goods in June were $0.5 billion higher month-on-month and stood at $145.5 billion. Imports increased by $3.5 billion from May to $236.7 billion recorded in June.

Wholesale inventories adjusted for seasonal variations but not for price changes were estimated to be $715 billion in June, representing a 0.8% rise compared to the previous month and a 10.2% jump on an annualized basis. Seasonally adjusted retail inventories were 0.3% higher in June on a monthly basis and 3.7% up from June 2020 to amount to $600 billion.
