Israel gov't approves first budget in three years

The Israeli government approved on Monday a new budget, the first one following a three-year political crisis that saw four general elections.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett welcomed the agreement and described it as "the most daring, most competitive" one. Meanwhile, Finance Minister Avigdor Liberman stressed the investments in "infrastructure, transportation, real estate" and reducing bureaucracy as its major achievements.

The Times of Israel also reported Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz secured the funding of 2 billion new Israeli shekel, or $619 million, for his sector after threatening he will otherwise vote against the budget.
